*Tour service review at the end of this entry*
TRAVEL DATE: August 13, 14, and 15, 2017
THE FARE: Php 1,000.00 per daytrip (negotiable). His original offer was Php 800.00 for one day tour excluding Bukilat Cave. We were able to negotiate Php 2,000.00 for two tour days that will include Bukilat Cave.
THE ROUTE: Camotes Islands

THE FEATURES: Kuya Michael’s tricycle has two seating compartments in the sidecar and another seating space in the motorcycle. The sidecar’s front seat is more spacious as compared to the back seat. According to Kuya Michael, his tricycle can accommodate six persons, but I think two to three persons can sit comfortably.
Pros: The tricycle is fairly new. It is clean and well-maintained. There are roads going to certain tourist spots that only a tricycle or motorcycle can pass through. This ride is perfect for a couple or a group of three friends.
Cons: The foam/cushion of the sidecar’s back seat is thinning out so he should replace that soon or at least provide removable seat cushions. Also, it drizzled a bit and unfortunately, there was no tricycle cover.

TOUR SERVICE REVIEW: We availed of Kuya Michael’s tour service for more than two days. For the three days that we asked him to meet us, he was never late. He was shy at first but he eventually became comfortable enough with us to answer our questions about his life. From our conversations, we found out that he was a native of Mangodlong. So he really is the best guy to ask for information on anything Camotes-related. He also knows where the famous tourist spots are and some of the hidden gems of the islands. He was patient with us and looked after our things while we enjoyed our time in the caves and on the beaches.
Kuya Michael’s contact details:
MICHAEL LINAO – 0936 668 4545
Mobile phone signal in Mangodlong is poor so don’t expect to get a reply at once. I don’t think he has a social media account. But he usually stays in front of Mangodlong Paradise Beach Resort or Mangodlong Rock Resort.
THE VERDICT: 5/5
Will I ride here again? Yes!! I definitely recommend Kuya Michael’s service for touring the islands. If you do decide to get him, please ask him to join you for lunch during your tour. In the Philippines, it is customary to have lunch with your tour guide. The food is cheap and the conversations often turn out to be great 🙂

Hello, Ate! I am Michael’s son and I am really thankful for this blog. YOU’RE SUCH AN AMAZING PERSON! THANK YOU FOR WHO KNOWS HOW MUCHHHHH.
Guests can actually contact him through my fb, Richmond Liaz Linao.
And by the way, how I wish that you could include the jeepney in your blog. I have the photo. (Still figuring out how could I send this)
-looking forward for your possible response! Thank youuuu
Hi Momon, Kuya Michael informed me that he already bought a multicab. We are happy for him and your family! Now he can accommodate large groups of tourists 🙂
I will edit and include your fb once I received Kuya Michael’s multicab picture. I also hope Kuya Michael can consider making small changes in his tricycle (i.e. seat cushion and rain cover) to address the CONS in my post 🙂 God Bless!
