Government Service: NBI Clearance Online Renewal [MAY 2025]

I know this isn’t my usual content, but I’m posting this anyway because:
1. I want a personal reference in case I need this document again;
2. I hope it helps others who are having trouble availing of this service; and
3. I want to rate government services.

NOTE: This is not a step-by-step guide on how to apply for an NBI Clearance online renewal. This is just my personal experience — when I applied, when I received it, and the issues I encountered.

I needed to renew my NBI Clearance but couldn’t go to the NBI office in person, so I applied online. There are sooo many websites about NBI clearance, but the legit government website is: http://clearance.nbi.gov.ph

On the site, click the box for NBI Clearance Online Renewal:

From there, it’s pretty straightforward. There are plenty of blogs and vlogs on how to fill in the required info, but the most important thing is:
✅ You need to have your old NBI ID number ready.

PROBLEM 1: Delivery address
I didn’t encounter any problem until I got to the part where I had to put the delivery address.

Manila has 897 barangays, but the drop-down list only showed 25. There is an option to pin the delivery location:

But it still wouldn’t recognize my address. There’s information below the pop-up window:

Unfortunately, these numbers didn’t work. I had to put my sister’s address in Quezon City and had my NBI Clearance delivered there.
✅ Application form completed on May 20, 2025.

PROBLEM 2: Payment
Next problem I encountered was with payment. For some reason, it wouldn’t connect to my GCash, so I chose to pay via 7-Eleven instead.
✅ I was able to pay the next day or on May 21, 2025.

PROBLEM 3: Tracking
I did not receive any SMS or email from the courier confirming payment or giving an update on the delivery status. The contact numbers posted didn’t work either. I tried tracking my order on the DeliveryBox website using the reference number I used for payment but it did not find my transaction.

I messaged them through the Contact Us page of the DeliveryBox website on May 26, 2025, asking for a status update.

I wasn’t really expecting a response, especially since their contact numbers were not working. So I started drafting an email to NBI, but before I could finish, I received a reply from the DeliveryBox Support Team:

I didn’t actually track the transaction myself, but I’m just happy I got an update. I planned to follow up again if the 7-day delivery period passed without receiving the document.

✅ My NBI clearance was delivered to my sister’s house on May 29, 2025.

THE SUMMARY
Date applied: May 20, 2025
Date paid: May 21, 2025
     Amount paid: PhP372.00
Date received: May 29, 2025

THE VERDICT: 3.5/5
Although my document was delivered six working days after payment, they really need to post working contact numbers and make sure the tracking reference numbers work.
