THE TRIP
07:00-08:00 Our airport transfer is scheduled to pick us up from our hostel around 1:00PM, in time for our 3:40PM flight back to Manila via Tiger Airways. That gave us the whole morning to do what we do best… shop. Do we really have the time? Don’t malls open around 10AM? Will we make it back before 1:00PM? These are some of the questions I asked myself and divimom. We don’t know but we decided to go anyway. Transportation: 12 THB each

08:00-11:00 As expected, Platinum was still closed. So were the shopping buildings around it. However, I don’t know how we got there but we went through this small alley almost in front of Platinum and the stalls there were open since they’re not inside a mall. They sell the same clothes as those in Platinum. If you want to buy cheap, you have to buy a minimum of three pieces of the same style so they can give you the wholesale price. The retail price is the same as in Platinum. We already know the items we want to purchase, and as if we still have a lot of cash left, so we didn’t stay long.

11:00-12:00 Again, we took the bus on the way back to Thara. Landmarks that we passed by:

Walking to our hostel thru Khao San:

12:00-13:00 Had my last authentic patthai for lunch. Divimom had chicken barbecue and rice.

13:00-14:00 The van picked us up a little after 1:00 pm. We were the second passengers so we got to choose comfortable seats. The van was full after picking up some more passengers. On the way to the airport, we had a vehicular accident. Thank God it was not a collision or something to be worried about. I don’t know who’s fault it was but we have to stop for several minutes while our driver talked to the other driver. I thought we have to transfer to another van but I guess they settled the matter because we were back on the road again.

Apparently, there is a story behind the pictures below. The statue, or the story, is called ‘Churning of the milk ocean.’ Maybe we were too busy looking for our boarding gate that we didn’t get a chance to appreciate the beauty of the statue/story. Now we have another reason to come back to Thailand 😉
