Transportation Review: UBE Bus

TRAVEL DATE: August 11, 2017

THE FARE: Php 150.00 per trip (Promo Fare)

THE ROUTE:  Robinson’s Place Manila to NAIA Terminal 3.

THE FEATURES:     According to their website, these are the features of the UBE Bus: Twenty four (24) seating capacity with provision for PWD seating, low floor entry, euro IV engine, adequate luggage racks/compartments, closed circuit television (CCTV), global positioning System (GPS), on board WIFI facility, and manned by salaried and properly trained crew.

Pros:     The bus was cold and spacious, the seat was comfortable, and the wifi was free. The crew were polite and they let me stay inside the bus an hour before departure.

Cons:     For the Robinson’s route, the UBE website says that their bus departs every two hours. Of all their contact numbers, I was only able to connect with them through their landline. I called to confirm the schedule but they gave me a wrong advice, which resulted to a waiting time of two hours for the next bus departure. For those going to Terminal 3, the bus will drop off passengers in the arrival area, not the departure area.

THE VERDICT: 4/5

Will I ride here again? Yes, if: (1) the fare stays at Php 150.00 (or cheaper); (2) I am alone; (3) the UBER or GRAB fare from my house to NAIA is expensive; or (4) I can’t find an UBER or GRAB car or a taxi.

*OCTOBER 2017 UPDATE:      Upon checking their website, they added three more hotel stops in the Robinson’s route. They also already opened their online booking system.
