Day 5, Camotes-Mactan

We liked Bakhaw Beach so much that we almost came back the last day. In fact, we already moved our boat trip to Mactan from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM just so we’d have enough time to spend there. But after weighing the pros and cons (cons? what cons??), we decided to just spend the day in the resort. We paid premium for our room and we planned to get the most out of our money.

Beach please!

THE TRIP

07:00-08:00     Another day, another breakfast. Again, we asked Kuya Michael to join us. While eating, we found out that he was a native of Mangodlong. His house was just several meters away from the resort. He told us that, sometimes, he plants corn in his relative’s field. He also has three pigs for breeding. Of course we had to see them! We asked Kuya if we can visit his home and his pigs. We also asked him if he can bring us to the nearest computer shop since we still have to check in online with Cebu Pacific. He said yes to both.

08:00-09:30     We failed to check in online after spending an hour in the computer shop, partly due to a slow internet connection and partly due to Cebu Pacific’s website. We don’t want to waste more time trying to check in so we returned to the resort. We paid Php 200.00 for the trip. Transportation: Php 200.00

Two of the three pigs. The third one was taking the picture hahaha (Hi LesLo!)
Oink! Oink!

09:30-13:00     Spent time in the sea, on the beach, on the beach chairs, on the beach towels. Prepared our things and checked out.

13:00-14:10    We left our bags in the resort and went to Mangodlong Rock for lunch. Meals: Php 370.00

Mangodlong Rock Resort

Restaurant

14:10-15:00     We left Mangodlong Paradise by 2:10 PM. Although the distance from the resort to the port was short, we had to leave early because the parade, which was part of the celebration of the feast of San Roque, was about to start. Luckily, we had a glimpse of the parade on the way to the port.

We arrived at the port by 2:27 PM and waited for the fast craft to arrive. Terminal Fee (Consuelo Port): Php 5.00 each

15:00-16:20     The boat arrived after 15 minutes and left Consuelo Port by 3:00 PM. Transportation: Php 350.00 each

16:20-17:45     We had more than an hour to spare before heading to the airport for our 6:35 PM flight back to Manila. We stopped by the nearby Island Souvenirs to buy pasalubong since we don’t really have time to go to a cheaper store and I don’t want to buy them in the airport. We also had snacks in the korean grocery beside it. Finally, we flagged down a taxi to take us to the airport. Transportation: Php 100.00
