Playa Tropical Resort Hotel had so much potential. Upon entering the vicinity of this Balinese-inspired resort in Currimao, we were welcomed by beautifully designed buildings. I really wanted to be excited staying here but I read several bad reviews about this resort in Tripadvisor. Anyway, I had to give this resort a chance.
Unfortunately, the complaints I read were still unresolved when we stayed there. Although the resort’s villas and cottages provide instagrammable backgrounds, their amenities were in a sad, gloomy state. The pool was big but it was not clean. The water was so murky I wouldn’t dare dip my foot in it. All the private pools in the villas were under maintenance. I think they have a problem with the filter and recirculating pumps. Again, the problem with their pool was the subject of many bad reviews since 2013. They should have addressed it way back so that future guests wouldn’t have to experience this.
We booked a double deluxe room good for 4 pax. However, the free breakfast was only for two people. The food was so-so and quite overpriced.
What is inside our room? Two double beds, aircon, desk, chair, lampshades, dresser, tv, en suite bathroom with hot and cold shower. They provided towels, shampoo, and soap. We have to ask for a blanket and additional towels.
Pros: Umm… good for photoshoots, I guess. I can’t think of anything else.
Cons: Expensive food, which tastes so-so. Wifi is available in the lobby and restuarant. No cable. The bathroom needs to be renovated. The pool needs to be cleaned.
