Transportation Review: Maica 2 (operated by Jomalia Shipping Lines)

TRAVEL DATE: August 12, 2017 and August 15, 2017

THE FARE: Php 350.00 per trip

THE ROUTE:  Mactan Marina Wharf (Mactan) to Consuelo Port (Camotes) and vice versa.

THE FEATURES:     The fast craft has a lower deck, inside upper deck, and outside upper deck seating areas. The lower deck and inside upper deck are air-conditioned, while the outside upper deck is in the open. All decks have the same fare. The ticketing agent will fill the seats in the lower deck first, before assigning the seats in the upper decks. In the lower deck, there is a small food store, restrooms, and a space for luggages. Both lower deck and inside upper deck have several televisions. During the trip, you can go to the upper decks.

Pros:    As I said in my earlier post, the trip to Camotes via Jomalia’s fast craft was pleasant. The fast craft was clean, orderly, and most importantly, it departed on time. The seat was comfortable and the room temperature in the lower deck was just right.

Cons:     The only con I can think of is not with the fast craft itself but with the shipping lines. They do not have a website, which made it hard for me to ascertain their trip schedule.

Outside upper deck. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of the lower deck and the inside upper deck.
Another angle of the outside upper deck.

THE VERDICT: 5/5

Will I ride here again? Yes!! I definitely recommend this fast craft for those travelling to Camotes from Mactan.
